Hailing from Belfast, Karen Hassan has captured the hearts of audiences with her remarkable performances on both stage and screen. With her captivating presence and undeniable talent, she has become one of the UK and Ireland leading character actors. Now taken centre stage as main character Alison in “Wait For Me” and has been praised “for her “terrific screen presence” in the film.

Karen’s passion for acting began at a young age. As a child, she would often immerse herself in imaginary worlds, bringing characters to life through her vivid imagination. Recognizing her natural talent, her parents encouraged her to pursue her dreams and enrolled her in drama classes. These early experiences laid the foundation for her future success.

After completing her education, Karen Hassan decided to pursue acting professionally. She attended the prestigious Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow.  Karen’s breakthrough in the industry came when she landed the role of Lynsey Nolan in the popular British soap opera “Hollyoaks.” Her portrayal of the determined and spirited character earned her critical acclaim and a dedicated fan base. Karen’s performance resonated with viewers, and she quickly became one of the show’s most beloved characters.

Following her success on “Hollyoaks,” Karen Hassan’s career flourished, and she embarked on a journey that included a diverse range of roles. She showcased her acting prowess in a variety of television dramas and films, displaying her ability to portray complex and compelling characters.

Her role as Annie Brawley in the hit BBC drama series “The Fall.” established her as one of the leading character actors of her generation.  Starring alongside Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan, Karen’s performance garnered widespread praise and cemented her status as a rising star in the industry. Her ability to portray vulnerability and strength in equal measure captivated viewers and showcased her incredible range as an actress.  Her recent performance in the Irish feature film, Cellar Door won rave reviews with the film winning best debut feature at the Galway Film Fleadh.

Karen Hassan has also graced the stage with her talent. She has appeared in numerous theatre productions, collaborating with esteemed theatre companies and showcasing her versatility as a performer.

Beyond her acting career, Karen is also passionate about using her platform for good. She actively supports charitable organizations and is an advocate for various causes, including mental health awareness and equal rights.
